A New Look For IHCUS.ORG
On 12/30/07, our website received a new look. It's the one that you now see.
Recently, information updates surfaced design areas in need of change and improvement. While working through these changes, I took the opportunity to apply a clean, fresh look to IHCUS.org.
Some of the changes include:
- Use of standard sans-serif fonts (Verdana, Arial, Helvetica) for improved readability
- Page width set to accommodate 800 pixel-wide monitors
- Regrouping navigation links
- Main navigation links located towards the top
- Supporting links located along the right side
- Content formatted to fill main area of each page
Moving supporting links to the right side forced page content to the left. This prevents content from being clipped off during printing.
As webmaster, my goals include ensuring that our website:
- Is easy-to-use
- Provides relevant information
- Has intuitive navigation (not a mystery to find something)
- Is technically easy to maintain
- Enables future growth

There has been much positive feedback on our website over the past several months. I strive to ensure that any change made will either preserve or improve upon it's strengths.
