About the Breed
The Ibizan Hound is a lithe, racy hunting hound originating in the Balearic Islands. Function-bred for thousands of years, the breed combines deer-like elegance with the power of a working hunter. The 2022 standard preserves the breed’s key traits: large prick ears, light pigment, white-or-red coat (short or wire), and the suspended trot that characterizes the breed’s graceful single-tracking gait.
