Fenced yard is a must.

Kashmir is a 3-year-old male, neutered, smooth coated Ibizan
originally imported from Serbia. He weighs 65lbs, measures 28” at the withers and 27 from nape to base of tail. He is microchipped, UTD on shots and preventative flea, tick and heart worm meds. Would like an experienced Ibizan Hound home with fenced property and if possible good amount of land – preferred if someone who will engage him in purposeful work, barn hunting, nose games, lure coursing etc.

He has a wonderful appetite – Pro-plan, dry & wet with a variety of steamed veggies and goat cheese, etc. He is in good health, no past injuries, rides well in the car, walks well on lead, sits at crosswalks when asked. Has been socialized well (prior to COVID) visited all types of stores, hangs at outside coffee shops, loves doggy daycare, large acreage dog parks (on leash only).

He knows sit, down, back up, kisses, hug, nose ( to put on collar, harness etc) leave it, find it, wait (stands still or stop a behavior). He is kind, gentle natured, very intuitive, smart, VERY
independent. Learns the ins and out of a place and then creates his own rhythm within – ie: puts himself to bed after a couch snuggle time, gets up and wakes up his person.

Crates well or can be left in the house without any destructive behaviors – an occasional shoe or glove is always in danger. He does not counter surf, doesn’t jump fences or the baby gate – is dog friendly, loves kids but has never lived with one, loves with a cat but outside cats are free game.

Loves to play tug, fetch, hide and seek, find it nose work, frozen kings filled with whatever, destroys floppy stuffed animals in ten minutes tops – never eats the stuffing – ever. Likes to hike, chase frogs around the pond, likes water after a bit and would probably love dock diving if introduced properly. Wanted to lure course when he witnessed it but we haven’t been able to yet.

He must never be allowed off lead in unfenced areas- he has no recall except in the house. He has begun to be afraid of fireworks and thunderstorms. Not hide under the bed afraid by very anxious, come looking for his person – snuggle clothes help (thunder shirt). He is not an excessive barker but will from time to time. Occasionally he will decide the wind in the garden at night is full of boogeymen or that was normal in daylight is now suspect. Loud noises are hit and miss – he is basically well adjusted and amazing. He needs to find a home where he can be his beautiful physical self – his mom now has a physical limitation that makes his rehoming a painful reality.
